Get Sgeulai
Coming to the App Store.
Sgeulai is on its way to the App Store, for Mac and iPad. It's free to download. Sgeulai Pro, which unlocks the rest of it, is one purchase that covers both. You buy the version, and it's yours: updates to it are free for as long as you own it and it's supported. A new major version is a paid upgrade — Sgeulai Pro 2 to Pro 3, for example.

Highlights, for Apple Books.
Highlights reads the passages you've highlighted and the notes you've written in Apple Books, so you can search them, copy them and export them. It also keeps a backup that Sgeulai reads (Import ▸ More Imports… ▸ Apple Books Highlights), so your research comes into your Story Bible as quotes you can drop into a scene or a note.
It opens Apple Books' data read-only, and can't change your library. Highlights is free, and runs on the Mac only. An iPad gets your highlights through Sgeulai once the Mac has made the backup.
